UAW workers are very welcoming
The members of UAW Local 2164 have ALWAYS made me feel welcome during my many trips to the corvette plant. You guys and gals continued to make the best sports car in America. Please keep up the great work.
I love my 2011 Grand Sport. It was so cool watching the first regular production corvette coming off the line. I will always remember that day
I only buy GM products and it's because of the pride I see each of you take while building the corvettes.

Amazing Enthusiasm!
Hello Corvette Customer Feedback UAW Local 2164,
I purchased a 1969 on 9/3/1969 and I still have it after going on a honeymoon and bringing two daughters home from the hospital when they were born. We owned a '96 LT4 (nice car) and a 2001 DMBG convertible (fantastic car) which I sold last September ONLY if I could do the plant buyers tour. We have been to the plant on numerous occasions, but never to watch a Corvette with special significance be assembled. We were fortunate to have the plant manager give us a personal tour of the St. Louis plant in 1971. Obviously, there is no comparison.
As it turns out, we ordered a 2010 GS Cyber 4LT convertible last September, 2009. We were at the plant first thing in the morning on October 27th. What an awesome experience. One of the driver side seat belt installers tried to get our attention by installing the wrong color shoulder harness-we didn't fall for it. He eventually put the correct color in. We got a kick out of that. We were very much impressed with the whole process of the Corvette assembly. Everyone was very appreciative of our purchasing a new Corvette while we were thanking them for doing a great job on the assembly line...and they did. The enthusiasm that everyone displayed was amazing. Pride and camaraderie was very prevalent. Everyone seem to work as a team. We can't say enough about the hospitality and friendliness of all the workers on the line. It was an emotional experience for us. Mr. Dave Hastings was our tour guide for three days and he was very knowledgeable of the assembly process and made sure that we knew exactly where our car was on the line at all times. A fork lift operator took a few moments to explain to us how the parts delivery process works.
My wife and I would like to thank each and every person at the plant that made our 2010 Cyber Gray convertible happen and for a truly amazing experience watching our special Corvette be assembled. If you see Dave Hastings around, tell him Walt and Wendy said hello. I could write much more but I'll just say- we'll be back.
When I retired after 39 years of service to the government, I received a picture of the control tower that I worked in with signatures around the picture from all of the employees. It would be a special touch if the Museum could somehow provide a picture of the buyers Corvette along with autographs of all that had a hand in assembling the SPECIAL Corvette.
Thank you all for an amazing, awesome experience,

Thank you for the THANK YOU!
Thank you for the opportunity to share how we appreciate the men and women who build the Corvette. I would like to start by saying THANK YOU to the men and women of the Bowling Green Assembly Plant.
Last Labor day (2009) We were part of the caravan to the Corvette Museum for the 15th anniversary celebration. A group of us toured the Corvette assembly plant on Friday. What we found out that morning make you proud to be part of the Corvette family.
We had been told that the Corvette assembly plant was only operating Monday thru Thursday, 10 hours a day. The men and women who build the Corvette had decided to take off the Monday before and work that Friday, because THEIR customers were coming to the plant that day and they wanted to show appreciation. Every where we went, signs on the back of forklifts, signs in work areas, some had them on their shirts, that said Thank You. Everyone made you welcome, answered questions and never let us forget how much they appreciated Corvette owners. We had a GREAT day, because of the men and women of the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly plant.
We have owned 5 Corvettes, with our latest a 2007 Monterery Red Convertible. We are planning a trip back to Bowling Green next July and will visit the Corvette Plant again.
Thank you again,
Lee & Carol Ritchey

A Job Very Well Done!
I am pleased to be able to finally express my appreciation to all you good folks who have worked so hard to make such a superior product for us Corvette "nuts".
I have bought 3 new Corvettes over the years, a 1966 425HP Mosport Green convertible (which I still own), a 2002 Electron Blue Z06 (which I also still own), and finally a 2008 Atomic Orange Z06. In addition, I have owned the following used Vettes, two red 1962's and a gold 1969 390HP convertible. Needless to say I have been very happy with them all or I wouldn't keep buying them.
Let me concentrate on the 2002 and 2008 Z06's. My 2002 now has just shy of 40,000 miles and I have had ZERO problems with it. I still look forward to driving it every time since it has a unique "feel" which is quite enjoyable. Even though it is getting a little age on it, I still get a lot of stares and complements when I take it out for a drive. It has been to the 12 hour Sebring race three times and to Bowling Green many times over the years. The 2008 was purchased brand new by me on 08/08/08 (easy to remember) and has proved to be a true "super car" of very high quality.
The engine was assembled by Mr. Greg Jones (great job!!!) and with its unusual Atomic Orange color gets so many compliments I almost take them for granted. It too has been to Sebring (twice) and to Bowling Green several times and now has about 16,000 miles. Again, it has also had ZERO problems.
So in closing, I want to personally thank EVERY worker from start to finish for a job VERY WELL DONE. My wife and I have taken the Plant Tour several times over the years and continue to be amazed at the professionalism and devotion to the job at hand. IT IS APPRECIATED! Even though I turned 68 last month, I am not about to give up on a future purchase or two of new Corvettes since you keep bringing out so many great technical and design innovations. Keep up the good work and your loyal customers will always be there for you.
Thanks again, Jerry Keyes

How about a high performance automatic?
Hello Corvette Customer Feedback UAW Local 2164 First I’m not new to the Corvette world. I’ve been a Corvette owner since the age of 27 (now 40) and have owned three vette’s in that time (currently a 2004 Z51 coupe). I’m a very active member in my local Corvette club and my nation Corvette club. I do take my car to the track once or twice a year, and run a few autocrosses throughout the year.
Now here is my complaint. Why does Gm have problems with people that buy automatics? For personal reason I can only buy an automatic. I noticed over the years any higher performance vette is only offered with a manual transmission. Now I’m interested in the 2011 Grand Sport and notice again if you order it with an automatic transmission you get less of a car.
After paying a higher price for ordering a Corvette with an automatic you DON’T get: the launch control, dry sump oiling system, an engine hand built in Michigan, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar GEN2 tires with Magnetic Selective Ride Control. I can understand if GM is incapable of building an automatic for the Z06 and ZR1’s power, but why mess with the Grand Sport.
There are always more automatics sold than manuals every year, and I’m sure the number would be higher if automatics were offered in the Z06 & ZR1’s. If you want to sell more Corvettes’ give us what we want. If I pay $67,000+ for a Corvette I would like it built my way, and not get less of a car just because I ordered an automatic.
Thanks, Joe

Great People making a Great Car
I have owned 2 new Corvettes and can't say enough about the quality and performance of this the greatest American Sports Car ever built. Last year my wife and I cruised with a bunch of our Corvette friends to Bowling Green on the Corvette Caravan and we had the opportunity to tour the plant. I am a mechanical engineer with lots of production experience but I must say I was extremely impressed with the plant, and even more impressed with the people. After all the bottom line is that it takes great people to make a great car and you have been turning out great cars for many years.
